    cold engine...hard starting.

    Hi!

My car is really not a "morning person" so to speak

It usually takes me 15-20mins to have the engine running in the morning and sometimes when it is really cold outside, the car doesnt run. But when i try to start the engine arround 12nn (or whenever the weather is warm), the engine runs fine.

When we bought it last Feb. '08... the engine runs in one click even if there is snow.

I notice the car started acting out when I replaced the water pump... Is it engine timing or something else?

I am one of those "back yard mechanic" trying to DIY and learn everything that I can w re to my car (w the help of research of course)... Here are the list of things I've done after buying the car.

    1. Replace spark plugs - NGK regular
    2. Plug Wires - standard one, just like the oem
    3. Fuel filter
    4. Change engine oil and filter
    5. Fuel injector O rings
    6. Replace front exhaust front pipe - done at midas
    7. Brand new l&r axle... and everything that is connected to it - done at midas
    8. Sway bar link end / stabilizer - done at midas
    9. Water pump
    10. Timing belt
    11. Flush the radiator

Btw, I replaced the spark plugs and fuel filter yesterday now the "Check engine" light is on ... it intermitently turns on/off.

I think that is all about it... TIA!

I know it sounds dumb, but check to see if the flow arrow on the filter is in the right direction.

As far as flashing CEL, sounds like the firing order is messed up.

hard starts cold are usually ecu temp sensor or IAC valve issues
