LOL, yes that is the right rx-7 VAF for the DOHC. it is the "B" code. also i think you would prefer the BP engine over the B8

and the B8 has a 6000rpm redline, and the rx-7 vaf will only see gains above 6000rpm so it is pointless for a SOHC

a b8 is the sohc and the bp is the dohc then how come my sohc says bp01. srry for the dumb comment but it was getting confusing

the BP01 and the BP05 are the codes for the head. there are several other differences between the 2 engines. the block my be that same but that is about it. thus the difference in engine codes.

2protoss: yes i do like the bp but i aint going to do that swap now... maybe in a few years when i get all the parts i need. for now, i will be happy with b8.

the B8 is the sohc 1.8L the BP is the 1.8L DOHC. why dont you go jy diving in the EU and get a GTX? are you getting a B8 sourced from overseas?

i know the SOHC and DOHC story . I found a guy in Croatia which is working with mazdas and he said that he will look for a B8 and i will phone him in 10 days to see did he find it. Here 323F are equipped with B8 engine so that is how i will get it probably. I would buy a 323F DOHC, GTX or even GTR (one is on the sale in my country, 200 kilometers from me), BUT! i love my pro to much to sell her and abandon her, the swap has to be done!

WHAT dude it is a GTR. i drool over a car like that. dude GTR and then swap is you are in love with the sedan. beside i'll buy the headlights, front bumper, front and rear hub assemblies

Damn, now that is love for a car. Glad to see that your willing to stick with her. God only knows how many times I got pissed at my car and thought about sellin her(even after the motor swap), but in the end, I'm really glad I didn't.
