That's in Canada. Nothing rots out in Cali, Texas or Florida. That's a crazy kit but 5K is more than ours cars are worth, lol.

It doesn't even come with the rings, piston wrist pins, main bearings, or squirters.

Stroker kit with boost'd be kinda a waste of money. Wanna go faster? Turn up the boost. Not that I wouldn't do it if money were no object of course. Cuz then, like, it'd be a 2.1l, and I'd still wanna go faster, and turn up the boost....
'90 AWD Protege, full GTR drivetrain swap, ~320 whp daily driver, RIP, and
'90 AWD Protege, yet another GTR swap, Open class rallycar with a Toyota GT4 gearbox swap, thus crossing the line between hobby and mental illness. And a Brabus E55 K8, removing all doubt.

          That is an epic comment.
This is my BP. There are many like it but this one is mine. My BP is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my BP is useless. Without my BP I am useless. I must drive my BP true. I must drive straighter than my enemy, who is trying to beat me. I must beat him before he beats me.

*Someone* on this board shouldoughtta be loaded enough and stooopid enough to buy this and boost it.
or not. Thinning out the block by 4mm and adding pressure sounds like a good way to experience cylinder wall flex. Guess I'll stick with the whole wanna go faster-turn up the boost thing.

planning on 25psi in the rallycar heh heh heh

I dont think you would end up with cylinder wall flex... We are not working with flimsy aluminum honda blocks. I have 85 mm toda pistons and there is still plenty of meat on my block... All that said all I would have to do is buy there crank for like $3800. I wonder if I could find a machine shop that would be willing to machine a spare one for less than that?

                  Here's FlyinMiata's version.
Flyin' Miata is the world leader in Miata performance and well-engineered, proven Miata MX5 components. We offer parts for a full range of Mazda Miata, MX5 and Eunos Roadsters vehicles.

85mm in these engines I think is pretty close to the limit with boost. We're going 1.5mm over with the rallycar rebuild.
I think I'd rather have that billet crank than a machined-from-stock, just in case, especially if I was going with forced induction. That said I'd be curious about that other option you mention.

Wasn't there a Miata with this stroker kit that was putting down 600+ hp before he twisted the chassis into a pretzel?

For a turbo car your right billet all the way both kits look way over built for just running n/a. I dont see why you couldnt run the stock rods a machined crank, 85 mm pistons I would think it could take 230 crank hp all day.

With the same amount for that kit you could run x2 the horsepower via a turbo-charged BP.... You could get a close to bulletproof engine for $2000, then $2800 for a turbo kit.... That would be like 460whp easy!

I'm already in for a little over $4k and still under 200 whp. I didnt do my build because I wanted the most hp at the time I thought I was the only one of my kind. Now i know better but I think kits like these are for people who are trying to get the most hp out of a bp, weather it be n/a or turbo.
