can i use Protege with MX3 tranny?

hello, im new here and new with Mazda...

Ok, i have a Protege 1993 1.8L SOHC with automatic trans... a guy is selling me the manual tranny taken from MX3 (93 or 94) (with everything, clutch pedal, and all that stuff that i need)

im not sure if the MX3 is 1.8L DOHC or 1.6L DOHC

can i know every scenario which work and which not work?

thx i will appreciate the help

a bit expensive if you ask me ... @ a u-pull the trans is what ... 75? really depends on what mileage on it, the clutch , ect

is he installing it for you for 400?

no, i have a friend who can do it very cheap... i have seen people here in PR selling the manual trans (only the transmision for $475 :s its crazy)

how much do u think i must pay for everything? i think is a G-series trans. but im not sure... i will check the car first.

(he told me the MX3 was 1.8L Dohc so that means is V6 with g trans right? or im wrong)

i thought the mx had the weaker F series trans? which is fine for daily driving but not worth it if your going to build the car

1,8 is 4 cyclinder bro not v-6 the tranny is coming from the same engine family as yours.

ooo i thought u meant v6 for somereason when you said dohc lol my fault
its weird i think that the bigger motor is the 6 cylinder one for some reason and that the smaller displacement engine is the 4 cylinder but its the other way around

                      The V6 in the MX-3's is a 1.8l DOHC, the 4 bangers are 1.6l SOHC & DOHC
