New member in need of help.

Hello, new member here, first post. I just purchased a 94 protege 1.8l sohc manual and the clutch won't disengage. You can change the gear if the car is off but it will not disengage when the engine is running. The clutch pedal feels normal and it looks like it's working (when you press it in you can see it move on the tranny). Clutch fluid is full also. I'm not sure what the problem is but I have been told by a couple people it's the slave cylinder or I need to adjust the clutch rod. My cousin thinks it may be that the clutch is bad. I'd like to get it running with as little money and time invested as possible. Anyone have any ideas or things I can look for?

if the fly wheel step is wrong it could cause that.. but it would have to be way off..

I'm not sure what flywheel step means. Can you explain?

Before I bought the car it ran and drove fine, after setting for a couple months now the clutch wont disengage. I think I am going to replace the slave cylinder tomorrow.
