oil leaking from same spot after oil pan gasket change

so i have had this leak ever since i dropped the new bp into the egt and the gtx setup. i realized i was missing 1 bolt on the pan so i went to put one in and the gasket caused pressure in the hole where the bolt goes and i ended up snapping the bolt in there, so then i went on to change the gasket today and also drill the bolt out and put a new one in. i did everythingg it took real long and it turns out the oil is still leaking from the excat spot. Its so frustrating but yeah some how oil always ends up on the u bend of the ic piping . the leak is on the front left corner of the pan if ur looking at ur motor standing infront of the car. im so lost

you should've used some grey permatex (kinda like honda bond) and it probably wouldn't be leaking.

also, mine leaks a few drops a week from that exact same spot on my gtx motor too if that makes ya feel any better.

Do not do that!!!!! That would basically weld your pan to your block and move the leak to a new spot.

Is it an egt motor without mbsp? I'd drop the pan and take the strips off and reseal those back on to the pan then lay another cline around it and bolt it back up. I've changed 3-4 oil pans and none leak. Take a drive to me lol

Don't take this as me being a dick, take it as advice. Don't half ass it. Take the pan down, take the 2 metal strips off the pan. Clean all of the surfaces with a scuff pad like scotch brite and brake cleaner. Reseal the strips and lay another bead over the whole thing. Goop it good at the gasket ends and reinstall. Start at the middle bolts and go back and forth from front to back like you'd do if you installed a head onto a block.

i didnt half ass it though thats the thing, i did everything in my power toclean the pan with like paint thinner or some****, it took the gasket right off. im wondering though, there was a metal strip right on the front end of the block but not the back end. thismetal strip had holes for the bolts to go through and it looks like it serves as mayb an intermediate gasket between the block and the pan, i removed it and then reinstalled that also with gasket.i tried to remove it and see if i could install the pan with out it and it seemed liek there was a huge space so i put it back.

I had this problem.... I later found out that the bolts holding on the bracket for the rear main weren't tight enough and thats where it was coming from...
Take the inspection plate off the tranny and check for oil in flywheel area.

There's your problem then. There should be 1 on the back and 1 on the front. It will never seal right without both of those. Proteges don't have them because they have the mbsp.

yeah you can ditch both strips and add a MBSP you need the mounting bolts to go along with the MBSP

that sucks man, but yea, you're gonna have to drop the pan again...don't feel bad i had to pull the intake manifold of my v6 626 4 times before it would seal properly.
