    Noise after fuel rail swap

Hey guys, I just swapped the stock escort fuel rail out for one of the big rails from white95scorts group buy. The rail went in perfectly and everything lined up and all, but now there is a clicking noise that I *think* is coming from the fpr. Has anyone else had this when they swapped to a larger fuel rail? The car runs fine and all, it's just that I've never heard that noise before.

    Thanks.

How new is the fpr and is it the n/a, gtx, or gtr one? I am not familiar with the bp, but hopefully knowing which one it is will help someone else answer you question better.

progt91 - Thanks. I suppose it wasn't specifically the fpr then. What would cause the noise to be so much louder than when I had the stock GT rail on the car though? It's not a soft , normal type cliking noise. It is pretty loud now.

white-lightning - The fpr is the n/a escort GT one, and as far as I know, it is the same fpr that the car came with from the factory. The injecors are rx-7 460cc's(if that helps anyone)

        Thanks.

larger rail, more surface area, more area for sound to be transmitted through.

If it's being transmitted through the rail, that indicates to me that you don't have the proper o-ring setup on your injectors, because those should insulate the sound.

Also, make sure you've got enough fuel for those 460's. If you're running stock FPR, you might not be getting enough fuel to the injectors, so they could be running 'dry' and making noise. Not a good thing.

I'll get new o-rings tonight and see if that makes a difference. They should be getting enough fuel. I had the exact same injectors with the stock GT rail and n/a fpr. Only new thing in this setup is the rail itself, which certainly seems like it will allow any amount of fuel necessary flow to the injectors.

When you're putting injectors into the rail, should the injectors "seat" all the way against that little rubber spacer at the top of the injector? I had two injectors that stopped JUST short of touching the rubber spacers. There are no fuel leaks or anything though.

            Thanks.
