    wierd noise

so i have been hearing this odd noise lately. sounds like a grinding or a scraping. it only occurs under load. i tested this by putting the car into neutral while driving. the noise goes away but once i put it back into gear the noise comes back. i searched and found some helpful hints but i am confused about the possible problems. i read that it could be the differential or the wheel bearing. what do you guys think it might be?

Wheel bearing should be constant. Diff or axle maybe. Can you take video/audio?

i had a problem similar to that. have your car in neutral. go under your hood and rev it from there. if you hear it while reving and goes away once you release it could be a bad or lose accessory belt. mine sounded like i was grinding my gears but i was shifting them nicely. mine only has the alternator belt so it was an easy fix. i have a gtx that had the belt. took that one and the one i had in my car and it was atleast half an inch difference and the alternator was placed farthest it could go.try this out first before going into more technical troubleshooting. hope this helps your problem
