    E85 bpt?

I'm thinking about converting by BPT to e85 when I swap my GTX. It's already got megasquirt, so tuning is covered. Is the stock GTX fuel pump strong enough? I have 550cc injectors but I'm sure those will need to be bigger.

Any insight from those who have done it is appreciated.

Btw, this is for a BF GTX, but the BPT is obviously from a BG, which is why I put this here.

deffinatly change the pump, id get bigger injectors for headroom too. other than that being a mazda change the hoses out so they dont get crap in the system like the last e85 thread here... your still on ms1 right? i can send you my old 1200cc injector tune for something to go off. who made yours is it one of lex's? honestly when i changed to e85 when i filled it up i just highlighted the whole ve table and went up till it idled back where it should, then added 3 degrees of timing across the whole table to start with, and just let VEAL do the fuel tuning.... i got 256whp on a mustang dyno at 10psi with a vf8 hybrid a few months back

I'm pretty much running a GTX/GTR hybrid set up and it runs great on MS. I'm using 460cc injectors and 255 walbro fuel pump @14psi. 3 degrees advance across the timing table.... I can send you my map too

i was thinking you had bigger injectors for some reason ? maybe before or something? what duty cycle are you getting to with the 460s?

are you sure they are only 460cc? i ask cause im runnin 450cc dsm injectors @ 85psi in the fuel rail and 14psi on pump 91 octane and im hitting 98%-100% duty at 7200 to get 11.8:1 afrs.

i was told to get at least 1000cc injectors for e85
i know its a piece of crap... but im still faster...

I plan on doing e85 as soon as we get a station that carries it. Mx-3 4evr, what's your mpg like, I have almost the same setup for now, on straight gas I'm getting 30mpg average.

ya 460s just sound awfully small even on a vj20. i wouldnt even bother on stock pressure with out alot bigger injectors, just sounds scary to me...lol...

I was kind of expecting to upgrade the fuel pump to a 255lph. I will be using a gt2871R turbo at 23psi (I think that's the limit if the base map sensor).

If youre not reaching 100% duty cycle until 7200rpm, I'm hoping I'll be fine on my 550s at 6500. Ive never really been comfortable taking my BPs much over that. They just seem like they strain themselves too much.

I'm running one of Lex's ms1 units that he custom did for a bf harness. So far it's pretty flawless, except that I can't make my stock tach work.

that DC is at 85lbs rail pressure , so its pumping out a bit more than the average 450s would at 43lbs or so.....lol... double might get another couple hundred cc's if your lucky

i asked that cause mines one of lexs too, till it went to ms2 now its changed a bit... the e85 tune i have for the 1200s can be used, just changing the req fuel. if you just export the spark table, and adjust the req fuel instead of the whole ve table and go tuning from there on your tune that would work too. right now im at like 3.1 req fuel from 2.7 or 2.6 on 93, i forget, but ms2 is set up a bit different than how i had ms1, theres just alot more settings ...lol...

                      I get 30 mpg if I don't boost.
