My car has 123k on it, and a lot of it was towed behind an RV.
Just wondering if the lack of torque below 3k and the sudden awakening at 3k is common on BP's and if there's anything I can do to fix it.. It feels like the timing may be retarded a bit and the power just comes on like that because of it. I have a basically stock BP. Only thing done is a K&N panel filter, small airbox resonator snorkel mod, and a Borla muffler.
Recently replaced:
fuel filter
fuel pump
plugs
wires
plug wires
Oh, also!
I have this odd high pitched rattling in 1st gear as I approach 3k accel or decel. It's hard to tell where it's coming from because I haven't had anyone near me to diagnose the direct spot it's coming from. I do have Corksport shifter bushings and 3rd link bushings, as well as ES trans mount inserts.
I would guess the throwout bearing, timing idler, or the shifter bushings would be my culprits.. timing and clutch are OEM to my knowledge. Any thought?
