    Har!
'90 AWD Protege, full GTR drivetrain swap, ~320 whp daily driver, RIP, and
'90 AWD Protege, yet another GTR swap, Open class rallycar with a Toyota GT4 gearbox swap, thus crossing the line between hobby and mental illness. And a Brabus E55 K8, removing all doubt.

Good find, but there's spiral core race cats that'll still allow max flow and still have the proper chemical reaction to help emissions so you're not polluting the environment.

My Dad blew his mustang from clogged cats. Melted pistons. So I don't trust them.

you can make your own by welding on heat shields to your straight pipe. you know the cat heat shields that start to fall off and rattle so you clamp them on with big hose clamps. I made a custom exhaust manifold back 2 1/2" and welded a set of heat shields off a scrap cat, did such a good job other techs I work with couldn't tell it was straight pipe. And for you tree hughers, it has passed MD treadmill emissions test 8 times now well under state limits. If the engine runs correctly it's clean and makes the most power!

That won't work here in the Midwest. (aka the rustbelt.) all the shields are rusted off by now on most cars around here.

SiliconeIntakes has hollow weld in style, pretty cheap too. I considered getting one for my daily but just ran a piece of straight pipe instead
