    really hard to find a good gearbox here in new zealand where you can get your licence at 16 and own a gtx. that's why they're getting hard to get. I'd probably only buy a crashed gtx rather than just the box. Still havent figured out what it is may drive it up on axle stands today, it's a shame as the car had alot of power and drove quite nice before that noise happened

      I don't think its transfer can only hear in on left front side? Drove on axle stands can't hear it coming from transfer

        Drain some lube outta the case and look for chunks. Then check that axle...Bad CV if you are quite lucky.

          good news, i replaced wheel bearing and that's all it was. gearbox is fine, for now...
