    Timing Belt

I am planning on replacing both my timing and alternator belts on my 91 protege since i am pretty sure they are the original ones are still on it now. My real question is, since im a very new mechanic, what other parts would you guys suggest replacing while i have it all apart. Im sure there is something very basic but crucial i am overlooking.

Every component on that side of the engine bay. Seals, water-pump etc.

Good luck getting the timing right on the first pass.

Using Linux for anything serious besides server or software dev is like using a tin can and a string for telecommunications.

Mark the timing marks on the old belt before you take it off. Line the old and new belt up and transfer the marks to the new belt. I've always got the timing right the first try.
Replace the tensioners and water pump
