squeeling sound
hey guys i just got myself a 1994 Protege DX, 5spd and when i am in third gear i hear a squeeling sound from the engine? i think it might be the belts just slipping or something, u guys got any other suggestions?

Belt Dressing from Auto Zone/O'Reilieys/Pep Boys...... you get the idea. Its a couple of bucks and should help the squealing go away.
Is this a permanent solution? No. You might think about replacing the belts if it hasn't been done in a while. Thats IF the belts are the problem.
Try the belt dressing and if the squeaking goes away then you know it was your belts. Then you can replace them next time your bored or out fixing something else on the car.
If the belt dressing doesn't make the squeaking stop then your only out a couple of bucks and you know its something more major than a slippery belt.Comment

Tighten the belts. If that doesn't work, replace the belts.
