seat dye issues. need some ideas.

Bought some 'mix ur-self' fabric dye. Black.

I'm attempting to dye the outter parts of my mx3 seats (the part that USE to be black...now blue).

Cleaned the crap out of a seat. Let it dry for the week.

Dyed it. Let it dry for the week.

THE SH1T STILL RUBS OFF. Brought the seat into the shower, no more dye now.

Any ideas of wtf i can use that wont rub off??? I'm just thinking about using some wood stain or something.

IDEAS ARE NEEDED HERE THANK YOU.

    JACK.

I used ratte can vinyl dye for my seats. Did on Dec. 10th of last year. Put 20,000 + miles on it. Never rubbed off once. Still black too.

I say try it. I paid $11 can. Check out my gallery and build thread. Did the door panels as well.

hmmm, what was the brand name of the spray you used?

are the parts of the seat where you sprayed all hard & what not? i've heard spray can dye will do that.

so you did the vinyl sections of your door panels too eh? hmmm i need to do my spare set of door panels (first ones i used plastic paint, sh1t wont dry after 3 months haha)

yea i emailed a couple companies in the area about ROUGH quotes. i'll figure out if i want to do that over the winter...i figure if i do, i'll have to keep these seats for every car i own for the next 5 years lol.

i might just save up and get those oem covers off ebay for $150 for the both.

Build seat covers yourself. Just buy a sowing machine, separate your old covers from the stitching, template them into the new fabric, cut them, sow them together, and install them. Im planing on doing this but in suede

i got a few quotes from around here! a pair of mx-3 seats costs around 500 in oem-like fabric material and 750 for leather.

I agree with the vinyl spray can dye. You can grab some from Napa... they will know exactly what you are talking about.

it's hard enough to find a girl that puts up with all my car sh1t let alone sew hahaha.

I think i'll try out the canned stuff, this way i can easily tape off the green center.
