Yesterday my blower motor stopped working out of nowhere. When I took it out to replace it with a new unit I found water and ice in the plastic housing that covers the bottom of the motor. This makes me a little uncomfortable. Where can water be leaking from to get inside the blower motor?

yeah pull the covers off the cowl it fills up with leaves and plugs the holes at either side which allow water to drain into the fenders. mine got clogged, filled with water, and froze.... while i was at work. no windshield wipers in a snow storm was AWESOME.Escort GTR -- 11.87 @ 117.6 mph -- 320 HP / 325 Ft. when i took my cowl off and the cover above the air inlet for the HVAC system there was no dirt blocking my drains. as a fix i pulled all the old sealant off the cover and laid down a nice bead of silicone. as i was pulling off the old seal i noticed that it was saturated with water. my only guess was that the seal was so bad water just went right through. so i put that bead on and then set a brick on the cover to let it seal up nice, then i took more silicone and put it on the outside edge to guarantee a seal. the next day we had a really bad rain storm and there was no water in the passenger floor mat1994 Escort LX Wagon
