    Protege bumper hacking, made pretty

This has been my plan for a while now since Corksport wants more for shipping than for the bumper...

I'll be taking my protege bumper and my 323 bumper and fusing them together....ending up with a Protege bumper w/ the rear plate section.

After the fusing, i'll be trimming the sides like the "ghetto jdm tight bumper" but i'll be molding the flare back on so body lines flow properly...

I figure this will cost less than the JDM bumper itself, and should still look ok, since it'll use all OEM parts for the plate mounting.

    Any comments would be great

    JACK.

i'm actually cutting the last bit of my 323 rear bumper today. i will pop rivet my wheel arches back on at the top and bottom, then using the plastic bumper repair kit from canadian tire whick is about $15 to fill in the but and "weld" it back together.

oh nice man, us canucks got the idea haha.

anyways, i was going to do the same, pop rivet and fill it. are you adding the arch to the outside or inside of the bumper? i'll probably be riveting everything from the inside.

So, what is it that is different in the mounting between Protege and 323 rear bumpers? I'm assuming that the EGT rear bumper mounts the same as the 323 one does. I want to figure out how to get the EGT rear bumper on my Protege so I can have matching bumpers front and rear (and sideskirts)

i'd imagine nothing, both have crash guards with the foam insulation, just the contour of the bumpers are different, the protege rear bumper basically goes straight, then does a 90* ...the 323 one goes straight for a bit then cuts off to a 45* (birds eye view)

not sure about the egt rear bumper tho

working took over for the last while....that and the shop is too fricken cold right now, need to cut down some tree's. i almost cut off too much from the top, i was trying to mount a support before work started. i have the next week off so it's time for fire wood, finish the bumper and get ready for paint again. still looking for a color to paint it, i have not seen very many 323's painted different, was thinking of a semi gloss black with gloss black accents, other than that there was like a met orange but i don't know.

hmm, you could always go with white, red, or black lol, personally i think that's the only colour they should be! look at the protege GT, only 3 colours lol! same with the ms3!
