Escort front bumper on Protege

Does the escort bumper bolt up on the fender like the protege, or does it brace on the sides like the mercury tracer bumper?

it slides onto a bolt on each side that gets tightened down

ok. Then how in the world did they get them to fit so well on the protege?

they still bolt on the same i take it, but youll have to figure out something for the sides if it moves too much

Thats the issue I'm having with the tracer bumper. I'm looking to get a escort bumper, but looking for some guidence on how to get there.

Some have done it, and I would love for you all to chime with how you did it and/or pictures.

i checked and their just free floating but i also have a fmic so some of the mounting bracket in the middle was cut away from what i remember everything looked fine ill find some pixs of it mounted since the protege is a disaster area right now

Ok. Cool. Maybe this tracer bumper is just crooked. Hopefully I can find a egt bumper at the yard.

I may get some short metal brackets and just use those for support at the bottom of the fender. Time and finding one screw.

yea that would help me my bumper lined up pretty good and i didnt have any issues with just leaving free floating ie (vibrating rubbing etc)
