    Opinions on gauge placement -PICS-

Ok, I have my water temp gauge done and wired up. What do you guys think about these two pics? Boost in the cluster and afr in the center, or opposite? I like the look of all needle gauges close to each other, but I kinda like the how the boost gauge in the center of the dash looks.

    Thoughts?

I could see where AFR next to RPMs would be extremely Useful, But I personally had my Supercharged Escort setup like pic Numero Uno. I Like the AEM wideband beside the Defroster switch better. And it is super easy to paint your factory needles, if you ever wanted to make them red like the boost and water gauges. I personally painted mine silver, and used a transparent red paint on the light entry prism on the needles, so by day they are silver, and by Night they are Red.

I also sanded the green off the back of the gauge faces, and got silly by fading from yellow to orange to red on the faces, from center to outside respectively. So by day they are black and white with the silver needles, and night time brings a fire-like glow. I think it turned out great.

Thats pretty slick info on the needles, Ill have to look into that. Im kinda leaning on the afr by the defrost switch. It is alot easier to read quickly out of the corner of the eye then the boost gauge. Thanks.

I have my AFR next to the defrost switch and it works for me, but I am N/A so I dont really pay much attention to it unless something feels funny.

Yeah, you just lightly sand the orange-ish paint off the back side of the needles, and I think I used a silver paint pen to replace that paint. It only gets paint on the back side of the needle, everything else is left clear, so either paint pen, or a lot of masking is required to do it right.

I can dig it. I personally would have the AFR gauge closer to the tach, to be as in sight as possible. AFR gauge > boost gauge on the scale of importance.

I have my AFR gauge by the tach and the boost gauge over low on the pillar, but honestly I don't look at either of them when I'm driving the car hard.
