there is only one o2 sensor on the 90-94 protege and to make it realy simple it is a one wire sensor. (ymmv)

i do suggest you install an a/f gauge they are very helpful in trouble shooting your car. and if you plan on seriously tuning your car i would strongly suggest it is one of the first gauges you buy.

          custom "A" pillar pod finished

so...i've had a 3 3/4 inch tachometer mounted on my dash for a few years now. recently i decided i wanted a pillar pod, but didn't want to give up that tach. so i decided to make a pillar pod to house the tach i had, plus a 2 1/16 air/fuel ratio gauge. i think it came out good, watcha think?

          go here to see pics:
94 Protege DX. Custom Intake. Kartboy Short Shifter. Grant GT Steering wheel. Shift knob and boot. Autometer tachometer and air/fuel ratio gauge. Eibach Pro-Kit and Tokico ZX2 Struts. Fog lights. Assorted neon lights. Rebuilt motor.

Wow what did you use to make that? Did you just use fiberglass or what?

I like the way the tach sits there. The only thing that I don't like is the 2 1/16 pod is a little on the big side and kinda looks outa place because so. Good job though!

nope, no fiberglass. it started as a wood "frame" which i then wrapped in aluminum, and then bondo'd til smooth.

I'd prefer and EGT gauge over an A/F any day.

it all depends on what you are looking for tuning wise. on my exaust mani i dont have room for and egt. so calibraited water temp, oil temp and a/f gauges will have to do the job for me.

An A/F ratio gauge is better than nothing still.
