My '92 protege lx that I planned on racing (I'm putting it's motor into an EGT with 121k, as the EGT ran dry of oil when the previous owner owned it. I bought it as a parts car, but decided it's in better shape than the protege, so i'm using the EGT instead!) has 198,098 miles! It sat for two years before I bought it, but it still fired right up like it just ran 5 seconds ago! It sounds like brand new, and still has excellent compression, and doesn't leak a drop of oil! And no, it hasn't been rebuilt, the old owner was the first owner, and he said that it wasn't.My family has lots of bg's!
2003 Ford Escort ZX2: Project car/future daily driver. Built Ford Tough (With Mazda Stuff)
1999 Escort ZX2: Daily driver/beater. Going to be replaced by the '03 next summer.
2000 Escort ZX2 S/R: bought wrecked, going to use as parts car
1992 Protege LX: My old race car. Just a wrecked shell right now. Waiting for scrap to go up so that I can get rid of it.
1992 Mazda 323: Race car
1992 Escort Gt: My grandpa's old race car
1994 Escort GT: My grandpa's new race car.

Its a matter of people reposting, mine has 175,000, swapped a 1.8 dohc about 6 years ago. Have no idea on transmission and engine, but the junkyard mentioned the car had 85,000 back then, although new rod bearings and piston rings were installed back six years back.
On mine the main culprit is the shift linkage bushings (fixed now with bronze bushings), new poly engine mounts, a few leaks here and there, it is expected for a car 19 years old.

mine has 205 on it now, not driven daily due to personal economy, my BG has had Maintenance issues only besides a half 'BJ' donkey paint job. The bushing issue I have now since the shifter droped from the floor one day I slapped down on the shifter and the plastic rtainers brok and are not replaseable from Ford or Mazda....trust me I've tried to get them. A friend in the next town has a lift and he sheet metal screwd the shifter in plas so it's back up but it does not shift very good, or smooth.
Do we have a thread on this bushing subject, I looked back in Aug. this year but nothing was posted...David

I always center the atv so the springs/struts don`t take such abuse. i took this picture before a 400mi trip towing this beast.
