Put in a 323 electric fan because the 4-2-1 header melted the fanblades of the EGT fan to the shroud since it was too big.

ha...mine melted up to! I just trimmed the **** outta the shroud, and it worked.

Nothing. It only melted a little bit of the fan shroud.

Now I have a smaller Saab fan and larger Griffin radiator, and the header is melting that fan shroud up pretty well too. If the fan still works, I don't see why it really matters.

You could always get a thinner/smaller fan to get it away from your header, or wrap or coat your header.

Wonder if that anything to do with the move 4-1 design? Ceramic coat the headers and fab a heat shield then get that coated as well.

yeah its overkill as far as stopping the melting of the shroud, but it would also help reduce underhood temps and possible heatsoak into the radiator for those folks with 3" thick aluminum radiators

Trimming the shroud doesn't work for the EGT. The EGT has a bigger radiator and fan, the shroud touches the header and the fanblades are a few CM away. Anyhow the 323 fan seems to work well.

I've never seen a 323 fan. You got a pic of that?

I'll post pics tomorrow or something, it might be the same as the protege fan, all i know is that the EGT fan is way huge compared to the 323 fan.

I got two 12" electric pusher fans and mounted them in front of the radiator. It helps keep the turbo alot cooler and cleans up the engine bay.
