while driving back from a family thing near shelton, WA on sunday, the roads were wet, it was rainy, and some guy was stopped RIGHT around a corner waiting for the person in front of him to quit stalling and take his left (there was no, and had been no oncoming traffic for awhile... i have no idea what was going on...)
it sucks, since if we had involved cops and insurance and all that, it would have been pinned as my fault, but it hardly could have been avoided... i reacted as fast as i possibly could, but man did i ever slide...
...sigh... well whatever...
car damage:
i figure i need a new grille (and i almost customed a mesh one on saturday but decided not to yet... goodthing, eh?), probably new headlights, since the grey plastic parts are pretty broken...
hopefully i can bend the radiator mount back into it's rightful place, then i can *maybe* bendthe hood back to somewhat good looking order...
i will probably be getting a new one though...
i have no idea how much on average these parts run for at a junkyard though... anybody have any estimates?
my dad, with his 20+ years of collision center body work estimated to use all new parts and plus the cost of labor to get it looking like new again, it'd be about $1200...
i know if i do a lot of it myself and use used parts, it'l be considerably less...
i'm not worried about the paint either...
heh, and practically no damage to the other vehicle...
i bent their hitch a little... that's about it...
