Well I Was Currently Running A Vj20/vj11 I Was Using The Vj11 Compressor Housing With No Waste Gate So It Was Stuck At 6psi.. Now My Problem Is That I Put The Whole Vj20 On There And Hooked It All Up But Its Want To Spike 15-20 Psi It Feels Like The Door Dont Open I Put The Boost Controller On As Well And Nothing. I Notice On Almose Every Turbo Has A Nipple On The Waste Gate And One On The Turbo But On The Vj20 In Has Only One On The Waste Gate Actuator .. Help Me Out And Let Me Know What You Guys Do For This Problem..do I Need To Add A Nipple In The Turbo Charge Pipe To Allow The Actuator To Get Air To Open Door..let Me Know That You Guys Think...

naw you dont need to add another nipple at your turbo.. what u need is just t it in one of your VAc line and hook that up to your waste gate.. some people say that its better to have it there than in the turbo itself. also from the way u say it seems like you didnt hook the vac line for the waste gate thats why it dosnt open at all..?My Toys =D

hmmmm.. just tap it in your manifold. im guessing that actuator is basically just a bypass. an on and off vac type. just tap it in your manifold and that should do it.
edit: yeah that solenoid is just a bleeder .. and the t is basically one way of relieving some pressure away..Last edited by ScOrTGtC; 04-28-2007, 01:26 AM.My Toys =D

Ok where exactly are you getting your vacume from?
Cause for best results on a system without a boost controller I tee off the vacume line behind the throttle body. With a vj20 it should run about 10 psi without any lag. And I dont use any of that stock electronic valve crap or that tee in the middle of the wastegate line.
Or if you have a electronic boost controller, the vacume lines will be different.
I have the Greddy Profec B spec II and it has 2 source's for vacume. One gets a feed from behind the throttle body for the electronic valve for the wastegate. And the other tee's off the fuel pressure regulator and has a built in filter in the line before it gets to the boost controller inside the car.
Also check the condition of your hoses, cracked hoses are no good.Last edited by TurboProto; 04-28-2007, 10:36 AM.

I get the vacuum right off the turbo, I had a nipple tapped and just routed a hose from there to the WG. I see no more than 8psi, 10 when its really cold out. You are seeing more psi because there is a pressure loss from the turbo to the TB. I am not saying that your method is wrong, I just like to keep it simple and stay within OEM boost spec.BP-05 Turbo-Sold

there wont be "lag" because of a 2 foot vacuum line versus a 6" line. someone tested their megasquirt with 100 feet of vacuum tubing on the map sensor and logged no appreciable changeEscort GTR -- 11.87 @ 117.6 mph -- 320 HP / 325 Ft. Lbs. @ 23 PSI
