    Miata Seats?

I am just curious if the Miata seat RAILS are the same as the protege ones... will they bolt right up to the other's floor?

yea i'd really love to have a miata as long as it had a 1.8 in it. the only problem is that i carry more than one friend in my car all the time, i use it to carry a bunch of junk all the time, and when i transfer schools, i will be driving in snow often and i wouldn't want to bring a nice car up there.

once i'm done with school, i'd love to build a turbo miata as a dd, and keep my egt as a beater/winter car.

Racing seats for a miata should be no problem, unless it doesn't come with universal adapters. Me, I snagged a seat off 93 honda civic coupe from the wrecking yard for 12 bucks in excellent condition and fabricated a adapter plate to make it fit.

how much would you have to stretch them to make it work?

the only thing is, i'd imagine miata seats aren't that different from mx-3 seats, especially not enough to make it worth the extra work, unless you could get them for free.

Nope, I've tried Miata seats. I'd say it's a 10 out of 10 on the difficulty scale. They are just plainly too skinny, and if you try to make braces to mount the seats to the rails it hits the front-back adjustment. It is not worth it. I was going to use them in my Pro and connect up the headrest speakers but it's virtually impossible and totally not worth it to make them fit.

I can have speedware motorsports make me a custom bracket for a sparco seat, but the brackets cost about $100 each.

I was thinking about parking the Protege and financing a Miata, I have a lot of aftermarket in the protege and I am trying to gauge how much of it I can use in the Miata, but I don't know what I am going to do yet, I might just buy that engine from Chris and not have a car for a while

Once you get a Miata and go for the first drive, you'll wonder how you've lived life without it.
