    323 curb weight

    The BG 323 has a lower curb weight than the 90-98 miata.

    Thought that was interesting
    I live my life a quarter pounder at a time. And for those 500 calories or more, I'm free. I need FRIES! Two of them. The big ones. Oh, and I need them tonight. You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didn't blow the seam on your nugget box. There she is, 2 pounds of pure beef. My dad ate it in 9.0 seconds flat. Check it out, it's like this. If I lose, winner takes my happy meal. But if I win, I take the burger and the toy. To some people, that's more important.

    that's because the 323 doesn't have amenities.

    and i actually spelled amenities correctly with out Google

      According to Mazda's '94 Product & Comparison Pocket Guide, The Protege weighs:
      Protege DX / LX 5 speed: 2388 / 2487

      Have you looked at a Miata lately? There's a lot of extra bracing. Most convertibles need extra bracing compared to coupes/hatches/sedans since there's no top to transfer load. That, the extra wieght of the RWD components, and soft top, and you can see why it wieghs as much as it does.

      The back half of a Miata that I got to fix the rust on mine was a heavy sucker. The whole rear of the car is a lot of steel. No wonder it has 50/50 wieght distribution. lol

        The Miata that the wieght figure is from is most likely a base Miata, which has just as few amenities as a 323 except you can't haul more than one person or fit a stock wheel/tire in the trunk. But it's a lot more fun.

          I think all three vehicles documented are base models.
