I bought it off of a mechanic who had replaced a lot of the parts including the engine block, head gasket, etc. So it is definitely possible. I am not TOO educated about mazdas, so I'll take your word for it.


what is an LX BP though. I definitely can tell you that there is a DX emblem on the side of this car haha

no, that is an lx. the fender, most likely, just got changed. its got lx seats, power windows, factory alloys, and a bp engine.

Nice score! If you're lookin to update the look you can always swap in 92+ tail lights (better looking IMO). Also i'd keep those rims on the car, they have to be the sexiest 14" mazda rim ever lol.

Another thing that'll help is go over the whole car, and align, clean up, or replace any damaged parts, that'll definately help as well. I can see your front left corner is a bit off alignment wise (grill/headlight/fender).

Assides that, clay bar and buff that thing! That red paint will turn out super sexy.

Escort GT sideskirts will also fit onto your car (1992+) with MINOR trimming. You can also snag a front lip of an older Mazda 626, trim it, then add that on. Also older Grand Prix (90-92ish?) have a factory rear lip that will fit with some trimming as well.

The quick tip off for me to whether it is LX or DX is the door handles. LX have painted door handles that match the body color. DX have black plastic handles.

Lower it an inch and it will look 100% better.

Jon's right about the 93 actually. In 93 they also came with those directional redesigned fanblade rims.

all i can say is you sure got a bastard child ha ha... i cannot figure it out... the mirrors are painted black (probably from the same car the hood was from) if that was the case why the hell would he have replaced already color matched mirrors... your car has me ALL confused... im almost wondering if it was a motorswapped dx from a black lx parts car where they got all the lx goodies from, does it have rear disk brakes?
