engine mount question

is the escort GT passenger side mount different from the protege LX?

anyone care to post a picture of a protege LX mount?

i'm finding different part numbers at the store/online... i'm using a mazda mount bracket on the gtr motor so i'm thinking maybe i need a mazda mount too.. could explain why it was kinda hard to line up back when i did the swap last summer.

I've had a DX/4wd/LX/EGT in my hands and saw no difference between any of them. Might be a fluke, but the LX one is on my car currently and the 4WD is tossed.

yeah i thought so too, but i am wondering why the part numbers dont interchange...

because some places probably don't list the interchangabilities, or even know about them....so they'd just have their 'ford' and 'mazda' sections....?

yeah but if beck/arnley makes a mount for the protege, and their parts for a number of other things interchange... then the mount should too

looks like the same mount, the companies didnt do enough research. and if thats the case, looks like a zx2 engine will swap in.

It's different. I can tell you from personal experience. The dampener that goes on top of that mount must come from the same car. Ie an escort dampener is needed for the Escort mount and vice versa. There are no other fitment issues.
