    how important is...

How important is the power steering tube that runs across the front of the car, my assumption would be the power steering fluid cooler of sorts? I have hacked up the reinforcement and fitted the bumper over the i/c... I REALLY like how clean it looks without having to hack it up... so im going to just tilt the intercooler in toward the motor at the bottom. my only problem is those tubes are in my way.

As i have mentioned before I want this to be an uber clean build, if it was my escort i would have already done what i did to that car which is just run that line behind that center support instead of infront... i want it to look factory.

is is something i could just clip off and circulate through a rubber hose or would it be worth my money to get a small oil cooler and just run them to that?

you could just grab some copper tubing of the same diamater and a tubing bender, and make your own. then spraypaint it black and it will look factory..

I was asking myself that same question because I need to free up some space for a tranny cooler. Since I am planning to do a few track days, I figured I shouldn't just ditch the stock power steering cooler 'pipe'. I am going to get a small cooler to replace it.

+1 Ferdi, that's what we ended up doing with the rallycar. It's almost like mazda didn't think we'd need lots and lots of room up there behind the bumper...

cool thanks all... my super quick, easy cheap build is making some noise, wait, what is that, *cha ching cha ching*

I have next week off and i was hoping to have it driving by the end of the week but im thinking funds will limit my progress... all i really NEED is a trans cooler, POSSIBLY some piping to modify my current fmic routing as i said i REALLY dont want to hack up my perfect bumper, a braided steel clutch line, and exhaust plumbed... i was going to just throw my 3" exhaust on it but this is probably going to be my DD for a while and i work graveyard so i dont want the neighbors to hate me (especially the area i live in, it would be a great way to get it stolen or vandalized) not to mention its not lowered and i cannot stand loud non lowered cars.

            it will get there!

The P/S cooler is just kind of hanging out on my maroon car since I've removed the hood latch. I've gotta figure something out too.

today i ordered a trans cooler... the smallest one the guy at napa could find... i figured that thick piping cannot be the most efficient cooler, any amount of fins to help dissipate the heat would be better than stock. not sure of its exact size yet (could bite me in the ass later)... Im just going to get a tube bender and hopefully it will bend the stock lines decently, and i will route them to the cooler.
