    I got a new mazda

    Hello all, Im new to this forum. My real name is Mike.

    Anywho, I just recently got an 1994 Black Mazda Protege DX Automatic. However, I cant seem to find ANY body kits for it. I also want to make it faster and put more Horse power in it, but I dont know how.. I know NOTHING about motors. I open the hood and all I know what to do is check the oil. My engine says 16 valve on it, what does that mean?? If someone could point me in the right direction as to where I could find a nice body kit and performance increase, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    P.S. Also, how do I know if I have a BG Chassis or w.e. that means...

    Unfortunatly in your case the only thing to really make your car faster would be and engine swap and it sounds like you dont want to dive into that. There are some optional bumpers etc at corksport http://corksport.com/store/category/...-exterior.html. You do have a BG chassis car.

      May I ask why I would need an engine swap? Whats wrong with the engine I have now besides it being slow..lol.

        The engine that is in your car has around 100 horsepower, you can spend time trying to add performance parts to it and you wont gain much, its just way more cost effective to swap out for a DOHC BP engine.

            2nd your best bet would be to do a bp swap...Search.... then find the proper items to use to boost that sucker..Search

                You will deffinatly need the BP motor and a turbo to reach that level. Start reading and learning.

                  Its so confusing....I dont know what any of this stuff means!! I wish I had a 2003 protege mazdaspeed. This 1994 is so weak...nothing to it. I wanna get a body kit for it, but, I dont know how to do it and I dont understand enough to learn...

                    If you sit back and take some time and read some threads and do research you'll find out that the first gen bpt would smoke a madzaspeed

                      Well im sure it will, but I dont know how much an engine swap will cost, nor do I know anyone who would b willing to help me with it. Im only 17...so, lol, dont know how much I cant get out of it. Also, where can I find a BPT motor?

                        Grab a bp swap out of a 90-94 mazda protege lx,91-95 ford escort gt/mercury lts/escort lx-e for around 500. Then piece together a turbo setup. I think I spent about 600 for mine.

                          Where am I suppose to find a 90-94 protege LX, or any of those cars? I mean, would it be acceptable to go to a junk yard or no...?

                            Sorry I forgot to say "....out of the junk yard for around 500". to make it easy grab the motor,trans and everthing attached to it,ecu,axles and wiring harness.
