    revolutions per mile...

ill throw it out there and see what comes up.. currently im running 185/60r14's . so if my numbers are right they are 914.6 revolutions per mile..here is the plan . i have some 15" rims. and planning on buying some 185/60r15's for a bit of extra ground clearance. the 15's are specd at 876.1 revolutions per mile..how much of an effect will this have on my car. 91 323 b6, 5-speed...lets say at 60mph..will it rev higher or lower??? don't know the final drive gearing.. thanks in advance..

lower revs, but it will mess up speedo readings. you'll be doin like 65-70, & speedo will say only 60.

        185/60R14's are 887revs/mile

        185/60R15's are 850revs/mile

When speedo reads 60mph, you'll actually be doing 62.6mph.

If you were to go with a 195/50R15, that's 889revs/mile and when speedo reads 60mph, you'd actually be doing 59.8mph. So that's your best bet for keeping your speedo/odometer 99.9% correct

The shorter sidewall would make you lose some comfort on the road, but give you slightly better performance.

Hope that helps in your tire buying decision!

there are many tire calculators out there that would have done all these calculations for you...

For all those people who find it more convenient to bother you with their question rather than to Google it for themselves.

btw the miata.net one is a great one!

ive done the 195/50r15 thing . in the dirt they didn't work too well . wound up destroying 2 wheels . i play in the dirt quite a bit.. so i prefer the extra ground clearance till i get the mx3 v6 struts. and skid plate this beast . have lost and broken a few bits n peices with the lower side wall tires..
