Will grade 8.8 bolts work for pressure plate (DOHC)?

title says all. Can I use Grade 8.8 bolts instead of 10.9 for the clutch pressure plate? Can't seem to find any grade 10.9 bolts >_>

    Thanks!

I wouldn’t recommend it, they are under a lot of tension. Try www.mcmaster.com or see if someone here can send you the stock bolts from a spare flywheel etc.

I don't know what size you need but Bolt Depot has grade 10.9 bolts in the following metric sizes:
      6 x 1.0
      8 x 1.25
      10 x 1.5
      12 x 1.75
      14 x 2.0
      16 x 2.0

they are 8x1.00 and 18mm long. I thought they were only 8.8 grade though? Thats what I bought a couple months ago and am using. But if the factory used grade 10.9 I would get them if you could. Don't forget the lock washers.

Unless what I told you ended up being wrong, they are fine-thread M8x1.00.

If you can't differentiate between brake and break, you should go back to school

I believe they say 10 on the back of them so 10.9 would be an upgrade I think.

metric grades go 8.8, 10.9, and 12.2. similar to SAE grade 2, 5, 8. if you can find them in 10.9 I would go that route, its best to match whats in there already.
