    Electrical HELP!!! PLEASE

Ryan is away currently or i'd have him help me haha. so ya.

    Here is my issue.

my Running TAILLIGHTS/dash lights (not the hazards) keep going out.

i've changed the fuse. multiple times and it shorts out on something and blows the fuse.

i've been trying to locate the problem but no luck...

it happens with excess vibration and is interment when it blows..
so if someone could give me any sort of help trying to track this down that'd be great it's already starting to freeze up here so the sooner i fix this the better!

    Thanks

He's away but not in Aus yet. He is on FB though. that sounds like a short to ground to me. Just gonna have to follow the wires and look. Id start at the tail lights. look for places they are rubbing or are worn.

I would change the bulbs or at least check them. I had a similar issue on my old 95 aspire.

I'd do exactly that. it may seem like a PITA but its definitely gonna be worth it, and isn't really that bad.

Many years ago my spoiler brake light went out and would only come on when the trunk was open. I was like WTF? i ****ed with **** for hours before I decided to just follow wires. Turns out they were rubbed bare at the damn hinge. 5 mins later and some electrical tape problem solved.

Take Ace's advice and start at the tail lights and go from there. I'd bet they are damaged somewhere in the trunk. Oh, and when you find the problem, fix it better than it originally was. Save yourself another headache later on down the road.

First Pro I drove after some time with my 323, wanted to see how it would accelerate, so I mashed it in low gear uphill. Front end started jumping up and down, stereo fell out of the dash, pushed it back in. Shortly after, same thing you have, blew that fuse. Problem was in the console/rats nest of wiring alterations from 15 years of stereo install/changes. Pretty amazing what people do to install radios, but fortunately they usually don't chop too much of the factory wires, just keep adding crap.
I'd check there first, since that is much more likely than a problem with the wiring to the back - unless that's been butchered too.

under the rear seat to the sides can get wet if the trunk "air flap" leaks and under the door sills ... they corrode and get stomped on all the time .
