A 1.6l bp?

Am I wrong or was there no such thing as a 1.6l BP engine?

It might be a B5 DOHC, they look really similar to a BP.

is a B5 pre 1990? and a 1.6 DOHC?
I have been looking at other engines and whatnot and I see a lot of 1.6s that are carbed and look like a BG, mainly because of the valve cover.

Side note: why are all new valve covers gay looking and covered in plastic? I miss the good old days of hide nothing engine bays.

I'm sure the car is awesome and whatnot, but if they are gonna caver it that much, why not a giant cover to hide everything and just put a picture of the engine on it?

i know a guy that has a couple of motors that look like the bp but they are different. i believe he told me they are 1.6L and the head doesnt bolt up to the 1.8 bp. i was thinking of a bump in compression due to a smaller cumbustion chanber but he shot that idea because he tried it. different bolt patterns. too bad
