Thanks, I was gonna remove the rails to send some mx3 recaro style seats to a guy with a tracer and thought about removing the rails to save weight/cost. Sounds like they need to stay with the seats.

Surprisingly it does not have odd ordor but it sure does smell like cherries! thanks to Coronado Cherry freshener. either way it still needs a cleaning haha.

So those MX3s seats will require you to use the rails that comes with the seats to bolt up in a Tracer? you cant just re-use your stock tracer rails?

MX3 seats need MX3 rails, all other seats (other than 4wd stuff) are the same length left to right from what I've seen.

You could use the Protege/323/escort/tracer rails, but the seat will be really crooked since the MX3 lower seat frame has a different height left and right. Would require washers...and that's kind of sketching because you'll need a fair amount of them lol.

please correct me if I'm wrong guys, but I've stripped down both styles of MX3 seats to bare metal, and 1 set of Protege seats with the tilt option.

actually jack... you can use a combo of protege & mx3 rails (like im doing) to level it out without needing washers.
Im rocking the protege tilt frame with this method as well.

thanks to Mazkid - for figuring that out.

if you use the mx3 rails, it will lean to the inside. To correct it, he can use his tracer rails. Not only will it sit straight, but i believe, higher than the mx3 seat rails.

Someone correct me if im giving wrong info.

Alright, to keep everyone on the same page this is the exact setup im looking at. MX3 seats that are going into a Tracer wagon will work with stock Tracer rails, no need for MX3 seat rails, sweet!

Nothing needs to be changed otherwise.

You'll be crooked on tracer rails. Mx3 rails are offset height, as is the bottom of the mx3 seat.

Unless you want to do some custom rigging, you need mx3 rails on mx3 seats and they will be straight. Thats all there is to it.
