Tightened all the intake couplers and no more boost cut. (YEAH BABY!) Also tracked down the leaking air sound behind the intake manifold. Turns out the rubber grommet that attaches the boost gauge line to the vacuum was cracked all the way up one side. My boost gauge doesn't work any more but the car runs better. Win. Clean the battery terminals again and put a top charge on the battery. It was slacking and needed help. Also pulled the radiator out and looked for the leak. No luck on the radiator fix though.
pulled my front coilover sleeve kit today for a set of ST lowering springs to hopefully smooth out the ride and solve my strut bearing issues lol....time for a road test!
edit: road test is good! no issues, turns much better and takes bumps like a champ now.
found the wrecked mx3 that i was gonna buy for a parts car in the junkyard today, so i cleaned house like a motherf*cker. brand new sony speakers in back, seats in spectacular shape, leather shift boot with no tears, new seats in superb condition, black carpet in damn good shape, still with the factory floormats that are form fitted to the floorpan so they dont move around (embroidered with MX-3), several yards worth of monster cable amp wire, SNATCH!!! mine all mine. spindles, big front brakes will be mine soon, as well. w00t.

Did a left brake caliper swap on the GTR earlier this week, changed from stock to a 02 P5 with a little ingenuity. Decided to check my work with by comparing the heat between the left and right after a drive to work, about 15min. Left side - cool to the touch. Right side - burned my fingers. Great, now the other side is seized! So after a few phone calls I picked up all the bits I needed on the way home (including the stuff that had to be custom machined, my guy is good!) and did the job in an hour and a half this time instead of a week. Now I can drive the car around for the last weekend before I take it off the road for the rest of the winter! Yay!
Only 2 things held me up: stuck on bolts that I had to stomp on the wrench to get open, and apparently mazda changed from a 12mm bolt on the left side to a 7mm allen key on the right side so I couldn't get the caliper apart. A quick trip to crappy tire and i was back in business! Don't know why the hell they would do that, maybe I got a different year?
got my car running and driving, had a whole day of happy, and now it just doesnt wanna go. gas to the floor, it just does not like the idea of revving up and moving. i thought that maybe the vics solenoid might need replacing, because it just felt like it had no power. it will not climb hills, and its reluctant to gain speed.
solenoid is good, one of the vacuum lines coming off of it has a small crack, and the intake tube was loose. fixed the intake tube and its a little better but not much.... anybody got any ideas about whats up?
