What did you do to your BG(part 8)

Some day I want to change a clutch, or swap an engine, or do a head gasket in some random busy parking lot. I think it would be hilarious. The most I've done is change a radiator out in my work parking lot. An alternator once too.

I was on the side of the I-15 freeway in Salt Lake City replacing a timing belt after it had snapped (non-interference ftw) and when I was about 15 mins away from wrapping it up a State trooper pulled up and asked if I needed a ride or a tow. I was like, "no, just swapping a new timing belt on" he was dumbfounded! You sure you dont need a tow? Haha!

Lol, I did a transmission in a grocery store parking lot once. It was stupid, I'm not really a fan of random people, so many wanted to ask wtf I was doing, even more were staring in confusion or disgust. I just wanted to be left alone.


Today I stripped the wagon... Most of it at least. Tomorrow ill pull the 5-speed swap parts out of it for the hatch, then i'll load the years worth of useless car **** I've collected into the back of it, and send it to the junkyard.

Hopefully in a few weeks I can do it all again with the probe. At that point I'll have 4 cars instead of 6. That's when I'll combine the two miata' and be at a healthy 3 cars again. Geez.

I put a new alternator belt on the mx3. I attempted to change the outer tie rod ends, only to find out that the parts store gave me the wrong ones. And they don't stock the right ones.

In the process, I found out that my inner tie rods are bad. I ordered some from rockauto, hopefully they're the right ones.

Oh, and I also ordered the last 6 sets of caliper hardware the rockauto had in stock. For $.74 a set, I couldn't resist.

Not a drop of rust. Just over it. I've had it for longer than any other car I've owned. It's been through many swaps and modifications in its life. I perfected the V6 swap with it, and now it's time to apply that to my hatch. When I bought the wagon it was too good of a deal to pass on, but it was never perfect. I set out to build the perfect escort, and I intend to. A clean white wagon, or 5-door hatch is what I really wanted when I bought my wagon, now that I have the right one, it's time to let this one go. Too many vehicles in my life right now... I'm stoaked to have a miata again, and would rather have a hideous miata than a flawed tracer wagon, and there's no way ill ever get rid of the Torino, so again wagon loses.
