          Today I tried to start the 323 and get it running, but the battery is flat and won't recharge. I can't loosen the bolts on the battery cables to remove the battery. I also managed to loose a wrench in my engine bay. It always seems to be the easy things with cars that waste my time. I give up

            me either. although if you have a Kia or miata valve cover then you would have to.

              Yeah, if you have a standard escort or protege valve cover, you don't need to remove the valve cover.

                I am going to be running the BH cover. Cut the cover, but not enough to make belt easily removed.

                          I took my BH, BP valve cover to a machine shop and had them cleanly cut the cam gear cover off, and with some additional trimming I have the better looking cover, and can use the normal backing plate with it, so timing it is just like normal.
