cut up the new front strutbody tubes to length. & lathed the ends true. soon to lathe up the spring adjustment sleeves to size & get it all welded together.

today I helped damkid with his 4WD Protege, turns out the fill point is at the front of the trans, and NOT the speedo assembly like all the FWD g-series lol....oops. We were both shocked haha, thanks BoBo for the help

Went for a drive in it tho, seems all is well other then servicing the calipers and putting some mileage on her before the bolts get checked again.

Installed a sub/amp setup to kill some time and change something on the car since I can't do much while I'm on the road. Bolted it through the floor of the trunk so it doesn't move around, or go bye bye when somebody breaks into it like a few days ago. Lol

Got my manifold TIG'd up today. Glad it was cracked in an accessible spot; I didn't have to take it off the car. Found that the rabbit I hit did do some minor damage to the bumper, it pulled the bolt through that holds it to the fender. That wouldn't have been an issue if I'd have used a larger washer though.

Also, I sorted out my insurance nightmare; almost got my insurance coverage cancelled for not being eligible for "high risk". Long story.

lol long story indeed, as if it yanked the side screw out, anything noticeable from the outside tho?

No. No actual deformation of the bumper. It must have bent up enough when I ran it over that it pushed the side out. I was using a very small washer. I had planned on replacing it, but I completely forgot about it.

curious what resolve you came to with the insurance situation. i caught a small glimpse of the situation via FB.

There exists in Ontario, a law that states no eligible driver can be denied insurance. Insurance companies can deny you coverage based on anything they please other than race as long as they have it written in their policy. Because of this, every major insurance company has a second underwriter called "facility". If you don't meet the regular criteria, you are considered "high risk" and must use this underwriter. It's mostly for drunks, speeders, racers, and crashers.

Since I have a perfect driving record, with no tickets, facility denied me insurance stating I wasn't "high risk", as it's part of their policy that they only insure "high risk" drivers. EVERY other insurance company / underwriter has a no RHD JDM policy.

To get this resolved, my broker simply had to explain to them in writing, that while I wasn't "high risk", my car is considered "high risk", and they couldn't legally deny me coverage.
