Take your time and trim it well. If I get a chance, maybe I can make a template.

I don't remember how much material ended up coming off to get it acceptable, as it's been a couple years now... I really should finish mounting it... When I do, I should make a jig for the brackets. I could probably sell the brackets and template for $15. Then again this is for an Escort wagon, so I'd only sell two in the next thirteen years. (haha, ****... I'm typing my thoughts as they go through my head) *shakes head and rolls eyes at self*

it won't be going on for a while because I'm lazy, but I figured it would be worth grabbing because it's the first one I've seen in months that wasn't broken somewhere... tempted to wire in the brake light while I'm at it, I dunno though.

Yeah, I think 3rd brake wired in is the only way to fly. Looks rice when you add a spoiler with a third brake light that doesn't light up, esp if you have another third brake light that does. I want an OEM like finish for this project. I'm hoping the EGT/LX sport block-off plate works on the wagon, but It's been so long since I've looked at either to tell from memory if it will work. If not, a home-brew delete is in order for overall cleanliness.

On a side note, It breaks my heart to say this, but a Semi-partout of the wagon is going to be posted up in the FS section probably tomorrow. I need to raise $1900 for a new project I have an opportunity to snag. It's gonna be wicked! And it's another white Mazda, so it'll match the Miata nicely! The wagon will be on the back-burner for a while... but eventually it will be finished with more of a clean OEM look. I've already worked a partial trade deal for the Ksports, I have a buyer lined up for the carbon fiber wiper cowl, the HID/E36 projectors and Fog grille will be up for sale as a package deal, the mint Mx3 leathers, and other odds and ends will be for sale too until I have the money for the new Mazda. Still debating on the Spherical MX3 LCAs, I really fricken love them still, but I only have until April 15 to raise funds, and it's not a deal I want to pass up.

As for the probe...? I'm thinking of parting it out, selling the fairly complete roller to a buddy, and just keeping the F2t for one last Escort project I've been planning and trying to reclaim some of the $ I've sunk into the performance parts. This other Project would be a ultra low budget Escort Sedan, medium Tint w/massively gutted interior and other MISC weight reduction, basically the goal would be sub-2000LB w/driver, and bolt-on F2t powered. Thinking like $700-1000 tops invested in this one. Add some R-compounds, and take it to the track to whoop some imports. Wouldn't care about body condition or color too much considering the budget, but I am envisioning an emerald green sedan in cleanish shape (maybe blown engine/tow away, picked up for like $400?) Hopefully either an old folk's car or settle for a completely beat to hell POS in appearance, and goes like hell for little to no dough.

That would put me at 4 cars, which is pretty much my limit.

And at some point in the next few years, I will probably leave the FWD game entirely (except the wagon) to make room for my Grandpa's 68 Torino GT. My Dad's holding onto it until I can afford to buy it from him, and have the means to really take good care of (turbocharge) it.

He sent the money part last night, now it's a matter of us trading coilover setups. I'll be down-grading to GC's on Blues with Cusco tops. Sorry dude, he was serious, and we've been negotiating this trade for some time now.

Rolled the fenders, replaced the front calipers and brake hoses, replaced the rear shoes and wheel cylinders, installed the RR bump stop that we left off (tequila+suspension work = stoopit), swapped out the wheels temporarily, flushed the brakes and clutch with fresh Super Blue, and installed new rear end links

Got lucky in the jy yesterday looking for spindles and saw a 91 Escort LX with the engine, trans, and axles gone. But the spindles were there loosely attached, but a 14mm socket and 20 mins later, they were mine! Small ball joints, small brakes, so they work with the 90-93.5 Protege DX.

FYI the 22-14 calipers bolt to the 22-13 spindles. If they work, idk, but they bolt right up. The 22-14 spindle bracket is spaced further out to compensate for the bigger rotors, but the calipers look identical.

I have pics on my phone. I test fitted with no rotor bc I was being lazy and it was hot. Plus, I had no c-clamp to push the caliper piston back in. Oh well. Partial confirmation.
My car is a Vazondissan. Part Nissan. Part Mazda. Part Ford. Part VW. Part Honda.
