I helped my grandpa inspect his race car after it's 4th place (out of 59 cars) finish on Saturday! I can't believe he did that well with it, as the car isn't the fastest one out there. He was taking it easy the first half of the race to preserve the brakes for the second half, and lost a bit of ground, but made it all back up the second half by driving really hard. First top 5 of the season for him, and his new car. Hopefully we can do even better at next month's race.
Also, before the race, they had a stunt guy jump a bus in a bf mazda 323. Someone got it on video. Here it is: http://youtu.be/rjQq-MpqZHo
My family has lots of bg's!

Ughhhhh, alignment is way off, it didn't occur to me that this would be a thing. Gotta see if I can reset the toe the way they recommend on TeamZX2 or I have to do it some pain in the ass way.

nah, I guess since the car was last aligned with old ball joints, replacing them threw the toe way out- like, you can look at the car from the front and the LF is toed out super far when the steering wheel is straight. I'll probably just eyeball it tomorrow night- I have new strut assemblies on the way and I'm picking up snow tires Saturday, so it doesn't make any sense to get a real alignment until after it's in winter mode.

I bought the new to me street car a present. Since the turbo that came with the car ain't no good, and the vj23 in my poor dead street car didn't survive, and since this new car is sooo nice, it's getting a EFR 6258...

mmmmmmmmmmm jealousy..........
i have a few complaints about the EFR's. but minor things. Id like to see a V band inlet & VNT technology would be amazing...... just imagine the possibilities
The major reason I got that one instead of the gtx series besides costing less is that the vband hotside out is maybe enough of a space saver that I can fab a downpipe that'll clear the damn AC. Cuz sure's hell the one for the vj23 won't. I am looking forward to seeing how less laggy it is, or if it's all hype.
VNT... pal of mine has an ml420amg naziwagen with a vnt turbo, he says you siimply cannot tell that forced induction is involved. It just goes.
adjusted the toe on the driver's side of my car... front to rear measurements were 9/16" apart, set it back to zero. took like half an hour, it was way easier than I thought.
hopefully now the car drives okay.

installed both front struts....... pulled the radiator & fan.
Tightened some loose CHRA to hotside bolts (glad i noticed that one)
Put the clamp back on the oil drain
snugged up the subframe bolts (loosened from when i changed the swaybar & added ferdi's delrin subframe bushings)
More tomorrow... i think.....

I know it sounds strange, and I was planning to get some smaller 365cc injectors. After doing some research though I decided on the ID injectors because of their reputation, many testimonies found on miataturbo, the OE level of information given for injector sets and how they are matched to within +/- 1% on low duty cycle and max duty cycle. Dead times are provided based on voltage so the values can be plugged into the megasquirt and they will always work like a matched set no matter how much the voltage varies while driving the car, and well 725 is the smallest injector they sell, plus the injector will never be over taxed on a N/A car. haha
Reports of the ID1000's idling as good or better then stock= I should have nothing to worry about with the 725's

I haven't used mine yet, but they are true works of art. Looking forward to your results.
Fixed the oil leak and brakes in the protege last night. I also washed it and waxed it, and now I'm undecided if I should put the egt wheels or th mini coopers on the pro lol...
