Had to replace the auto-zone die hard that's been in my a good amount of my cars over the last 8 or so years. It still holds a charge just fine but the positive terminal area is cracked and vents there when charging. It destroyed the second $1 lead battery terminal I've thrown at so it was time to finally replace it. Through some weird logic it was cheaper buying an optima red top than a new lead acid due to core charge and that I wanted to keep the die hard to give to someone for a project car.

My clutch has also stopped slipping due to me fixing a major master cylinder issue. Not sure if I've posted that.

I fired her up, then shut it down after 5 minutes. Exciting.

My 30A fuel injection fuse blew last night. I replaced it and so far it's holding. No idea why it blew yet. Maybe just age.

I just blew that same fuse two more times. Noticed my o2 heater ground was loose. I'm going to assume that's the cause for now, tighten it up, get some more fuses, and hope for the best.

ordered a bunch of parts. front calipers, F&R brake hoses, and heater core.

things that I do not want to do to this car: replace brakes and heater core.

Brakes aren't bad, worst aspect is setting up a new master if you have to.

I need to decide how to make this not look horrible though. I took the old filler panel and removed the brackets from it so it slides on it's own now. It works quite well but needs a handle of some sort attached to get it to close/open fully in an easier fashion

I guess just buying all the oem plastics is an option but I've honestly never seen them. Thinking I'll just fab up a fiberglass cover once I redo the headliner.

For some reason my ignition base timing was set at 5 degrees. I advanced it to 12 degrees and that seems to have solved my high EGT problem, returned my idle vacuum almost to normal, and restored much of my missing low-mid range punch. Also I may have found a source for ethanol-free 93 octane gasoline very close to me. I need to confirm that in the next day or two.

I really am enjoying it already, it really brighten ups the car.

Today I took out the gear shift assembly because im putting bushings in the nonbushinged area. I wish I had of picked up an extra oem bolt because i could of used that instead of drilling it out a bit to fit a normal bolt. Need to pick up a can of rattle can paint because i did scrap the hell out of it drilling and removing the original bolt.

I hope this cures not only the loose shifting but the damn shifter vibration as well. It's been driving me rather insane lately.

Still can't believe the replaceable bushing assembly was ever designed that way. When 90% of the corrective actions to bad shifting is "replace shift rod" perhaps it should be made differently. IIRC they had everything replaceable on the BHA at least.
