I had a lot of "free time" at work due to being there all day every day so I spent some time working on the Miata nardi wheel I snagged a while ago.Click image for larger version

Right now its a "B-" install, I need to cut a bit more out of the metal horn assembly to readjust the CC bracket to make it more flush.

Overall time spent on it was absurd when I think about it, about 7-8 hours. But a good deal of that was cutting a little, refitting, cutting a little more ad nausea. I had to mod the **** out of the turn signal canceler as well.

I'm quite enamored with the wheel though, it needs a bit of leather repair but the overall feel of it is great compared to my stock wheel. The wheel is about 1/4in closer to the dash and Despite them on paper being the same size it feels a bit smaller than stock but that might just be the way it's dished.

I also noticed I broke the bracket for my intake.

It was pretty thick so I was quite surprised to find that. I think I'll put a bushing or something on the new one.

discovered that my rear tires are on the wear bars, which might explain why the car was so sketchy in the rain the other day.

to make things better, ZE-512s are discontinued and everything else in that price range is ****ing garbage. FML.

            They are?

Man I dunno, I just know I like them SO MUCH more than the Hankooks and Ecsta ASTs and I don't want to pay $100 per tire for my daily...

Not quite the size you want, but they measure wider than their spec.

They're still my favorite sub $100 tire.

Huge fan of the Federal 535's for budget V rated 205/50/15's. I've had about 4 or 5 sets. Done everything from daily duty to autocross to track days with them. Love them. Im sure there are better tires in the rain and dont get caught in the snow but for the $ I doubt you can beat them from a performance standpoint (why else would you buy a V rated tire for an escort).

Yeah she's right on from my experience. They just drop off pretty severely when you get them really hot (10-15 minutes into a track session, will never happen on the street) but thats my only complaint, if that even counts on a tire in this price range.

I'm running the Dunlop Direzza DZ101, easily the best tire I've ever bought. I think there's an updated version of it out now. I highly recommend them.

those G-Force Sports are a possibility.

keep in mind that this is for my daily so ultimate grip isn't the most important thing, I don't want something that's gonna be sketchy as **** in the rain after like 10K

edit: I was planning on buying DZ101s for the front of my 240, I have Hankook Ventus HRIIs on it now I think and they are literally the worst tire I've ever used.

I got like 20k+ of safe miles(lol camber/toe wear) out of the g-force sports on the BHA, they were damn good in the rain. I even drove them in the snow on the highway a few times and they did well.

I like the old hankook ventus, or at least I think they were ventus..... it's been a while since I had them. The grip wasn't the best but they had really linear breakaway feedback, something I sorely needed when I first started driving the BG because of my driving style managed to both plow and have snap over-steer depending on the road. The AWR rear bar really was a crutch.

I can live with that. I'm actually surprised that the tires wore evenly the whole way across, given that I have the rear camber maxed out.

the Hankooks aren't horrible on the street, but they completely wash out when you try to flick the car to initiate- I'm going to just end up throwing them on a different set of wheels for the rear and burn them up.
