Finally started working on my 323 again. I got my block honed, sandblasted and clean. Got my rebuild kit from mizumo auto, I shimmed the oil pump it came with, it looks like a decent kit. I will update my worklog soon!

I found a Z31 T3 turbo on ebay and should be receiving it by next week. It comes with the turbo manifold so if anybody needs this, let me know.

Replaced the lower radiator hose yesterday, looking over purchase history I'm at about 90% engine bay hose replacement. The heater core hoses are the only ones I haven't personally replaced. Suppose I'll order them whenever I get to replacing the current motor in the car (2015-2016 est)

I also adjusted my rear toe as my passenger rear was bowing in visibly. Car has much better turn in, I still have a weird vibration on hard left hand turns that I still haven't placed. It's quite annoying. I think I'll just reassemble the passenger side suspension and see if that fixes it.

On the topic of suspension the rear sway bar links are still a bit too tight and have destroyed the sway bar bushings that looked ok on installation less than a month ago. It sounds like I'm driving a stock MSP now. Clunk city all the way.

My oil consumption has gone down greatly and my fuel consumption has as well. If the clutch wouldn't chatter going into 2nd gear shifts and I had 4th gear I could probably drive the car as is for another half decade with no real complaints.

took it out yesterday for a 3hour towing adventure for a ocktoberfest/ scooter meet.
its unbearably drony & loud inside the cabin. The exhaust will have to be reworked.

Lubed the trunk lock (it had jammed closed in the open position) and installed new license plates. Very mechanical.

actually worked on the wagon for the first time in... uh, a while. cleaned up the engine ba a little, put in some new plugs (with a little Marvel Mystery Oil down each cylinder), and repaired the positive battery cable.

fired right up with a jump start and ran pretty well. gonna change the oil this week and do a bit more cleanup while I'm at it.

starter went out on Monday, so got that replaced in yesterday. Put in a Napa Premium starter(they had a sale! ). Car fired right up, and I'm happy!

Need to do a lot of other things!

The rear sway bar bushings I ordered were far too large in outside diameter. It looks like they were returned once already and they just shipped them right back out. Got my money back while getting to keep them and decided I'm going to make them fit.

Already getting wrong bushings for something simple is not encouraging to me when I'll be doing the control arms next week.

Well, as I am aging, I find myself looking for more comfort in the vehicles that I depend on to get me around. Dont get me wrong, I love the performance thing, but I feel that some compromises are necessary for things that are daily driven. So, I took the obnoxious 3" Exhaust off the white car. 3" cat-less mandrel bent with a vibrant "muffler" basically straight piped... It will be fine if I ever get around to bolting the turbo on it, but it is crazy loud for an N/A KL. Replaced it with a 2.5" setup that actually has resonators and a muffler as well as a high flow cat... Much better. Barely louder than a Prius at idle, which is cool, especially since everything except the cat is straight-through. The car smells better, has no drone, and once I make a few other downgrades and changes plus a few small repairs, it will be far more comfortable than my SVT Contour, while still out-performing it by a longshot. I also mounted my hitch, so I can haul my Kart behind it.

Took it for a 10 mile drive afterwards, and the thing is really quiet, which is a huge relief. It's so quiet in fact, that right as I pulled up to the house I could actually hear the upper radiator hose burst... Ha. It was probably original equipment on the '02 millenia that I pulled this motor out of, and I had noticed recently that it was starting to balloon under pressure. Well I guess I neglected that one for long enough. Time to do some maintenance stuff. It's getting softer springs and snow-tires this week too.

I have a feeling that my contour is going to need an engine this winter, so I am getting a jump on having a backup plan. (I don't intend to have my wagon much longer, as the contour has filled it's role as well as far out-classed and out-comforted it) If the Contour 2.5 goes, I will slap together an Escape 3.0L shortblock with '01-02 Cougar 2.5 heads and my SVT cams for a little more "pucker" factor. Should be a perfect setup to keep it simple but still have fun. It'll be something like 11.4:1 C/R, and is supposed to run very well with an SVT ECM. Supposed to put down 220whp which is far better than 195 at the crank. And it'll look all the way stock!

                          niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice.

I'm thinking about replacing the springs on my strut assemblies with some H&Rs or some **** and selling the K-Sports. I love them, but I love the idea of not changing strut assemblies every six months even better.

Yeah, We don't salt the roads here, so I'm just gonna slap my 300# Front and 250# Rear QA1 springs on this set of ksports, and rock them for the winter... with the 5-lug I'm pretty much limited to coilovers anyway. I'll keep the road race springs which are 600# and 500# for events. Then I'll sell my other set of Ksports with their factory springs (450# and 340#) as well as the set of 390# rear springs which are for wagons and 4wd pro's. That's 14 springs and 8 struts for one car haha.

I would be in the market for a low mileage set of K-sports and a set of stiffer rear springs to go on the GC's for my wagon when either of you decide to part with said items. This depends on if the K-sports are the new versions though (black larger shock body)

I can trade my GC 200lb rear springs if interested.
