The person who assembled my 4seasons rebuilt A/C compressor that has been installed for less than a year did not feel the need to attached the field coil proper to the compressor. It worked it's way loose and ended up spinning in place until it severed its wiring and blew the AC relay.
I of course just thought it was just a faulty coil until I pulled the pully off and was greeted with this image
This is verbatim how it looked once I popped the AC clutch and pulley assembly off. The screws more resemble rivets than screws, two of three screw bores needed to be re-tapped and the coil mounting points are visibly routed out.
My spare non-ruined by incompetence coil for comparison, you can tell which is which by it having it's wiring not ripped of and not being undersized.
I've sent them the most irate complaint email I've ever pinned. And the worst part is there is no alternative rebuilder to buy from in this particular area. The higher tier parts stores stock this exact one and the lower probably stock the rejects from this factory that are probably assembled with refrigerator magnets and spit.
I also tweaked my front end alignment again to as close to 0 toe I can get. Feels better overall on my shake down drive. See how she takes the off ramps at speed tomorrow.
Also if you get the thick moog inner tie rods I'd recommend painting them before installing.
They're two-three years old.
