Took a look yesterday and the shield looked alright but was a little closer to the rotor then i thought so while I had the wheel off i bent it out just in case. The noise seems to be pretty much gone now, i can hear it very lightly if I'm driving next to wall with the windows down and music off.

          Hey guys,

I have a problem with the wife's car need a diagnosis... car is overheating, overflow is blowing bubbles, heat gauge rising to top. Let engine cool down, replace lost coolant, start it idle it, no splashes or bubbles at idle... until thermostat opens. then it pops coolant...close it, let it cool, open cap refill a bit, reservoir is good... close everything up go for a run, she heats right up. get home, I can feel intermittent bumps in the rad. overflow is spewing steam.... bumps are exhaust gases from combustion chamber as in blown head gasket or cracked head? is head gasket a for sure or could it be as simple as the cap?

I think if the heat gauge is steady it's a cap, but if heat rises like crazy, it's a head gasket...but I think steam can make a coolant temp sensor go wacko... no oil in coolant or coolant in oil...

          whadya think?

They sell a kit that detects exhaust gas in the cooling system, its a cylinder that you fill with a blue colored liquid and it has a rubber cone shaped adapter on the bottom that you hold onto the radiator cap opening and theres a small vacuum line that you need to hook up. If there is exhaust gasses it turns green

drove it around without a hood all day. fixed my overheating issue by replacing my old plugged up single core rad with a newer 2 core unit. put new tires on the back. beat the piss out of it on some twisties.

Found another one 227 miles away. I think I will be scrapping two of my parts cars out and driving down to pick it up. It's a '99 zx2 with a blown tranny and lots of rust. Perfect parts car to get my '03 zx2 going. I wanna start driving my own car again, and not my dad's ford ranger that can't even keep up with a honda insight hybrid. And the ranger gets horrible gas mileage. I want my 8 second 0-60 times and 35+ mpg back! lol

Changed out the fuel filter on a BG SOHC 1.6L. Tip for others: remove the battery for easy access, also you may or may not find your brake fluid resevoir cap hiding behind said battery >.<
So many black specks came out of the fuel filter, hoping this fixes my random hesitation issues.

Still getting the check engine light for a coolant sensor. I've already replaced the sensor, not sure what to do next

My harness connector had cracked and the although the connector was clipped on the sensor, the wires slid back and didn't contact the sensor.
