Its probably the rebased bulbs. They sometimes place the bulbs in the wrong spot for the housing to properly reflect in the housing. Its only gonna look like super high beams, mostly shooting light into the sky, and not much onto the road.

Well, I aimed them down, but they still aren't good. I think I might just return then and get a refund. Does anybody know how good the lighting is on a set of mirage halo lights with standard bulbs? (would they be brighter than stock headlights with HID kit? Brighter as in lighting up the road better, not just output of light bulb itself. I want to know how they project the light....) Like on a scale of 1-10, 1 being oem 323 lights and oem bulbs, 10 being actual projector retrofit? I'd rate my current headlights with HID kit a 2 or 3. I'd have to keep the standard bulbs in the mirage headlights, as I don't have money for both a mirage headlamp kit and HID kit. And I don't have the money for an HID projector retrofit. Not to mention it wouldn't be worth it to me because I might be trading the car in a few months.

PS: Even better yet would be pictures of the output on the road. I searched but couldn't find pictures of the output on the road. Just pictures of the headlights themselves.

Also, are EDM glass lights better than the mirage lights, for putting light onto the road?

Are they better than mirage headlights? Like I said, I want to put the most light on the road, not in the sky. I would think the mirage headlights would put more down because of the lenses not being fluted, while the edm's have fluted lenses. But I don't know if my thoughts are correct. lol

idk, depends on if they are better than mirage headlights and on the price. Also, I'm not sure I'm going to be returing my lights yet, so it depends on that as well.

Brody, the EDMs are worth it. Just like if you were to put brand new OEM lights on the car, but because they are glass, they will not oxidize, meaning that they will be like new for a lot longer. Rock chips are the only thing you'd have to worry about, and if you are worried about that, you could always apply a layer of Lamin-x. If you wire in the leveling switch, you would have easy adjustability for when you have a motor in the hatch, or if it gets foggy, and during those heavy snow storms! The fluted lens will properly deflect the light, when used with the proper bulb, I believe they an H4 bulb IIRC (If so, H4's are the **** and beat out any 9004/9007 style). They will give you a lot better light pattern than any cheap EBAY headlamp will, and it will be better than Ebay HID setups in any non projector housing. The only way you are going to top the EDM's is with a good HID/Projector retrofit.

EDMs are gold because they are the best light output for a reasonable price, and they look hella clean during the day! You can contact LXCRX or whatever his name is on here, because he's stationed in a US zip code in Germany (on a US base) and can constantly get EDMs to your doorstep for like $175-200 including shipping (with Leveling switch/motors and all need pigtails)

best bang for the buck is the edm's the mirage halo's are clear plastic which allows you to modify/ add hids without the fluted lens flare but require permanent modification tot he front end to fit. imho the light output would be better with the mirage's BUT soo much more work and money to get them there

retrofit ftw. i think the EDMs look better, but you cant beat the light output of retrofitted lights, downside is the plastic on the clear lens i got is too thin, it has a crack in it from a rock.

well, in that case, I'm going to think it over. The idea was to stay under $150 shipped on whatever I bought, so thats why projector retrofit is out, and I don't know if I can get EDM's that cheap. Mirage lights are only $120, and thats the reason I wanted them, but it sounds like nobody thinks they are a good deal. lol. I have some major decisions to make....

yeah realistically would be around 225 for EDMs cause you would need the corners also, my retrofit cost me around that also.
