      just finished my timing belt on the protege after 5 months or so of the car just sitting in my garage! The bottom timing cover wudnt go in straight, but I just tightened the bolt on that biaatch! Everything else is spot-on, including timing and everything. I can't wait to put the rest of the belts on and start the car this weekend hopefully!!

        stared at it. waiting until next week for more parts to come in.
        I believe i'll be giving this ole beast a full top-end refresh.
        the valve guide seals have been gone since i got the motor. & im sure that has something to do with the Puff's of smoke on occasion.

          Eh. took the ds seat out to get it patched, so if you have any ideas on what I should patch it with, look in the interior section and comment.

          Its gonna be sitting until next sat since i'm on call and have the work van, so no rush. My seamstress is pretty flexible

              tried to bring the BG to the movies, but she didn't want to go apparently lol. Damn intermittent ignition issue lol...also noticed a 90* coupler has had a bit of road rash lol...looking into replacements lol.

                ahaha I just went to my borrowed daily (97 olds cutlass sedan) and opened up the right rear door!! It hasn't worked in over a year because of a seized mechanism. Maybe I should leave windows down during rain storms more often? The drivers window also doesn't go down on it's own anymore and will go back DOWN! once bring it back up (would only work once before!!) haha as if! I use to have to stop/start it at drive-thrus and ride programs and they would just laugh (luckily lol)

                  broke my BOV somehow. blew the signal line off and the bolt for the air fitting seemed like it was loose, except if I tried to tighten it the ****ing thing would just spin. managed to get it tight so I could drive it home, but I'm gonna have to take the thing apart this week and figure out what's wrong with it.

                    Looking at another Escort in the morning! It's the one that got away a few years back, and I've not seen another one for sale within 100 miles since. Wish me luck. I'm hoping it's as clean as the pics show, and that the 1.9L will run fine through the winter, while I complete the next swap for the Zombie Wagon.

                    The longterm plan for this hopeful new one is undecided, Either KL with a built LONG gear transmission, or BP4W, and a G-series with at least a 626 5th gear swap. Either way, I want lower highway RPM than the wagon currently has. I know for sure I will pick up another set of K-sports for it. And some legit wheels of some sort. Good thing I kept My leather MX3 interior too! If only I knew someone who could source some JDM parts for me, *cough*Bo*cough*

                      ya I hear you man, I'd kill to find a 3.85 final drive trans lol...these 4.11's tend to annoy me..."ok can't take hand off shifter until 4th gear" lol

                      I re-pinned an soldered an MX-3 B6 sohc engine harness to run a GTX ECU today took a few days to find the info I needed, but thanks to Jinx for the linx (har har) I got her done! Thanks again man!

                        I went from a 4.10 to a 3.91 in my bimmer, it was a very welcome change, it would be nice if it were that easy with these cars.

                          Chased down a nagging vibration noise to one of the IC pipes. Thought I fixed it but made it worse. So yesterday I went after it with more sincerity and killed that noise dead. Ahhhhhhhhhh

                            no doubt man lol. I haven't even bothered looking into the 3.85 swap because of what's involved with it. Hell I'm not even sure if everything will swap over to the 1st gen case, may need a Kia case lol.

                                Bought that ****. It'll be a while before the money for mods starts rolling in, but once it does, BAM. The plan is clean, low, sleeper, DD.
