Realized in the last few days, I need a complete new turbo back exhaust (not including the downpipe) It keeps causing my 2 bolt flange that connects the DP to the exhaust to leak...I can turn left and it seals, turn right...it leaks....car warms up, it leaks LOL

      Cody- I'll take pictures tonight.

Jack- this is gonna sound dumb, but before you replace the exhaust, try putting worm clamps on all the rubber hanger things and see if that makes a difference.

This doesn't make any sense, optimizing the stock intake by replacing the upper resonator with a straight pipe, and removing the lower resonator and cutting the air box(and optionally adding a large reducer) is intended to IMPROVE throttle response. Beyond that fact, the physics behind the mod are true in theory. Think about it, remove a chamber (that dampens the air movement, thus slowing throttle response (slightly), and opening up the air box so it can have zero restriction (restriction that could slow throttle response (even though this could be negligible)) both will net better velocity though the intake, not harm it. There is a reason the mod is so popular, it works. The only throttle response killer is so called "cai's" that either are too large, or too long.

part of my spark plug broke off and landed inside the motor. Not really sure the best way to get it out. I can see it inside but so far my attempt to use a shop vac have failed.

dude, all I know is that I drove it to and from work and drove a stock one at work and there is definitely a huge flat spot in the response compared to stock, and it wasn't like this before I did the mod. if you hammer on it the car rips, but I'm not driving WOT everywhere just to get it to move.

the best way I can describe it is like when you have the A/C on and you get that lazy response until the compressor kicks back off... which, obviously, would be something to check, except that it does it even with the climate control set to off.

This is the second time I have heard of this in the last month. How the heck does one shatter a sparkplug, and inside the motor at that?
All I can say is the only way it's coming out is compressed air and hope. If you can get the exhaust valve open, that would be best rather then blowing it into the intake.

I didn't mention it in my post, but it sounds like you have a leak in the intake. Did you use the correct size pipe? Is it larger on one side than the other? Is it thick wall pipe? Are you 100% sure it sealed up good? Did you perhaps miss putting the brake booster line back on if it was removed?

if you can see it, you can probably get to it with one of those grabby snake things, yeah?

followed the write-up on TeamZX2- 2" on one end, 2.5" on the other, sch 40, etc... though I used RTV instead of cement or whatever to bond the two pipes.

nope, not 100%. one of the things I'm going to check. all hoses are connected properly.

also, I'm wrong in blaming it entirely on the resonator removal- I'm looking into other **** (TPS, throttle cable, etc) because with my luck, it may have just been something that failed at the same time as I did the mod. as you said, pretty much everyone does it, so the odds that the problem are caused solely by doing this mod are kinda slim.

I'm mostly just frustrated, with the exception of the coils/wheels/lights every single thing I've tried to do to this car to make it a little more fun has actually made it worse.

Stick that m45 on it. Run an fmu and AFPR. Call it a day. That ought to solve any throttle response issues

Seriously. Do the math for pulley sizing, give it like 3-5 psi, add a tiny fun factor, reliability and longevity shouldn't be affected since you never really beat on it.

I know you don't want to work on it, but a few hours to fab it up and slap it on, a few more hours to work out bugs, then leave it alone and monitor AFRs for a while.

If its the metal part, use a antenna magnet (teloscoping magnet) to get it out.

nope its the white porcelain part of the plug. I need a little bigger hose than the 3/8 fuel line I am using. shop vac is my best option.

I don't follow lol, what would this accomplish? My main issue is it's a 323 exhaust on the sedan, so the hangers are stretched towards the back causing it to rattle and **** lol

we use it on 240s all the time to get more exhaust clearance, you're basically just clamping down on the hangers so they have very little flex and keeps the exhaust from moving around as much.
