I wasn't trying to be a dick. I just meant that if my car was rust free, I wouldn't cur it up for anything. Not because it's easier or harder to do, but because cutting it up has the potential to cause a lot of rust down the road if its not put back together properly. If you really wanted to swap a FWD into a 4WD, I'd find a fairly rusted chassis and repair the rust as you're cutting it apart.

If that post was for me, I wasn't trying to sound like a dick. Sorry it appeared that way. I wasn't trying to tell you what to do. It's still your car and you're free to do whatever you want to it, I was just saying what I would do, as well as most people on this forum.

Altering the gas tank to allow clearance for a AWD rear pumpkin & the driveshaft will be your biggest challenge. if you can figure out successfully bypassing these... then yes you can make your car AWD.

you will need an extensive background in welding & fabrication - or help of professional services

Damkid and are will be comparing rear subframe clearances next time I go over to see him. I have a spare BG rear subframe, as well as the BG to take floor pan to subframe lengths

idk if you knew but he bought and stripped a 4WD Protege a while back

Hmm. I think I still have a GTX tank...
'90 AWD Protege, full GTR drivetrain swap, ~320 whp daily driver, RIP, and
'90 AWD Protege, yet another GTR swap, Open class rallycar with a Toyota GT4 gearbox swap, thus crossing the line between hobby and mental illness. And a Brabus E55 K8, removing all doubt.

Funny story, ironically, I was searching google for a 4wd-2wd comparison again, and this thread came up, so much for googling.

I have a friend who has superb welding skills, and a ton of money to throw at it, has anyone or does anyone know for sure if it is possible to using the right tools to completely swap a 4wd floor and firewall and associated parts into an EGT? I say firewall because the rack is on the firewall on the 4wd correct?

This person happens to not care for proteges and likes EGTs, thats the reason why, and you're wasting any effort to try and convince me to have him build a 4wd protege into the car he wants because i already tried myself.
